Yes the Tharwa Country Store is still open if you are looking for somewhere to stop and relax on the weekend when you are out driving about.
Just over the Tharwa Bridge from Lanyon, you could stop in and buy an ice cream, soft drink or some of those old fashioned lollie bags.

If you want you could take a look around the antiques in Nannas Pearls, or look at the display of old Australian household tins and advertising signs it is well recommended.
Tharwa is a great place to stop on a an ACT day trip or drive around Tourist Drive 5 on a weekend. Plenty of shady trees, places to sit and a laid back atmosphere. Get away from the crowds at the malls on the weekends.
